Bringing this international conference on the biology of rabbits, hares, and pikas to our campus is in part a recognition of the work that ESRP has been doing towards the recovery of the riparian brush rabbit over the past decade.
This conference takes place every 4 years, but this is the first time it will be held in the United States. Previous ones were held in Canada (Ontario, 1985), Portugal (Porto, 2004), Mexico (Morelia, 2008), and Austria (Vienna, 2012). We are expecting 150-200 researchers, plus travel partners, from all over the world to attend WLC5.
